Ahmad Walid Etemadi started his music career at the age of 17 in Kabul, Afghanistan. He was discovered by the legendary Afghan artist Ahmad Wali who introduced him to Radio Kabul.
The first song he sang was a song dedicated to all the mothers of Afghanistan on mothers day celebration. This song ignited his relationship with late Ahmad Zahir. After hearing his performance, Ahmad Zahir wrote a song for him "Ein Che Ishqest Ke Dar Qalb Daram" which was recorded as duet with himself and became overnight hit.
After the communist regime took power in Afghanistan in 1981, Ahmad Wali migrated to Germany and continued his music career there.
